Description
THE COASTER is the latest evolution in the casey. foil range.
It is a design that has evolved over the last years, with the introduction of parawinging, the resurgence in SUP surf foiling and the consistent wing ding market. This board is designed to do it all, from a high performance freestyle wingboard in the smaller sizes, to a user friendly board that’s built to carve in the larger ones. This board pairs perfectly with a parawing and works well as a SUP foil too for competent riders.
If you’re looking for one board to do it all, you can’t look past the Coaster!
GENERAL GOAL | THEME OF THE BOARD:
A performance orientated board that is efficient and works great with a wing, parawing, and has the ability to use a paddle with the larger sizes.
CONDITIONS IT’S WORKING BEST:
Depending on the size of the board it can cover just about everything.
SKILL LEVEL IT’S BEST FOR:
Intermediate to Elite. Potentially not your first board, but still very user-friendly.
WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF WHEN YOU DESIGNED IT?:
I wanted a board that covered a wide range of users and conditions. A board that scaled from a high performance wing board for elite riders, up to more approachable sizes for enthusiastic crew. A board you could use in a range of conditions, that covers a range of disciplines.
WHAT IT POSSIBLY COMPROMISES ON THEN?:
If you are a very lightweight rider you may prefer a slightly narrower board.
OUTLINE:
Wider nose, parallel outline, to pulled in tail. This board is quite straight through the middle section to assist in getting on foil as early as possible. The nose also has a bit more area, which helps to get on foil on the smaller sizes, and land more progressive freestyle moves.
RAILS:
Rolled with hard bottom edges. The rolled rails enable the bottom surface area of the board to be as big as possible, enabling earlier planning and more equal volume distribution. The hard edges help water release more efficiently, reducing drag. They are tucked through the mid-rear section to ensure they don’t catch on more radical maneuvers.
ROCKER:
Clean flat arc throughout, with parallel box section. The flatter rocker helps the board to plane quicker, no matter what discipline you’re doing on the water. There is a subtle tail kick, which helps keep it out of the way when you are pumping up, or taking off.
BOTTOM:
Rounder front into flat midsection. The rounder front helps the board on touchdowns, it won’t immediately stick and bog. The flat planing surface through the middle allows the board to glide effortlessly
DECK:
We have a concave deck to get the rider as close to the foil as possible while maintaining the volume needed. It’s a soft concave without any drastic edges so it doesn’t trap water on the deck after takeoff.
FINAL STATEMENT:
This is a design where performance and functionality meet, if you want to have the most fun on the water you really can’t look past the coaster.
